This piece is inspired by a teaching Tūhonotanga: a Māori Perspective of Attachment I heard by Donny Rikki from Aotearoa New Zealand.
Whakapapa are Indigenous connections that extend beyond human ancestors to include primordial ancestors (elements of nature, earth and sky) which are embodied in seen, unseen and sensory ways.
The Māori culture does not only honor and value Women but view them as strong and important spiritually. A perspective I would love the entire world to take one day.
